Screw Chiller Working Principle
How does a screw chiller work?
Evaporator
In the evaporator, the refrigerant enters at low pressure and low temperature and interacts with the water stream to be cooled. In this process, the refrigerant changes from liquid to vapor, absorbing heat and lowering the water temperature.
Compressor
The evaporated refrigerant enters into the screw compressor in the form of gas. The screw compressor consists of two screws rotating, and their rotating action gradually compresses the gas, and increases the temperature and pressure of the gas in the process of compression.
Condenser
After compression, the refrigerant enters into the condenser, the refrigerant releases heat through the heat exchange with the cooling medium and forms liquid, and the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant will be gradually reduced in this process.
Expansion valve
The condensed refrigerant will return to the evaporator through the expansion valve, the expansion valve plays a role in restricting the flow of refrigerant, so that the pressure and temperature reduction, thus forming the evaporator in the low-pressure low-temperature conditions.
Through the above four processes to realize the continuous operation of the cycle process, the screw chiller can achieve continuous refrigeration effect, the refrigerant in the evaporator to absorb heat and evaporation, and then through the screw compressor is compressed into a high temperature and high pressure gas, condensation in the condenser to release heat, and finally through the expansion valve to reduce the pressure and temperature, and then again into the evaporator, the formation of a closed-loop refrigeration cycle.
Features And Advantages Of Screw Chillers
High efficiency
Screw chillers utilize screw compressor technology for high efficiency cooling capacity. The design and working principle of screw chillers allow them to provide stable cooling under high load conditions.
Large capacity
Screw chillers are suitable for large-scale refrigeration needs with large refrigeration and cooling capacity, such as large industrial sites and commercial buildings.
Stability and Reliability
Screw chillers are designed and manufactured with a focus on stability and reliability. The screw compressor, as a core component, has low vibration and noise levels to provide smooth and reliable operation reducing failure rates.
Precise Control
Screw chillers have precise temperature and pressure control capability, which can be finely adjusted according to the actual demand, so screw chillers are suitable for areas with high temperature control, such as biology, medical facilities, laboratories.
Customizability
Screw chillers usually have customizable design features to adapt to different applications and individual needs, and can be custom-designed according to the actual cooling load required.
Environmentally Friendly
Screw chillers are also environmentally friendly, as many models are available with environmentally friendly refrigerants, such as Freon replacements, to reduce air damage and pollution, and screw chillers are energy efficient, with optimized control systems and highly efficient component designs to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
What is Acrew Chiller used for

Air Conditioner
Screw chillers are widely used in the air conditioning systems of commercial buildings such as offices, shopping malls, hotels, schools, etc. They rely on the supply of chilled water to cool the air and maintain a comfortable room temperature.
Process Cooling
Screw chillers can be used for process cooling in industries such as industrial manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals, food & beverage, etc. They help maintain specific temperatures for specific production processes, equipment cooling, and stored products.

Data Centers
Screw chillers are used in data centers to remove heat generated by servers and other equipment, ensure optimal operating temperatures, prevent equipment overheating and maintain data center infrastructure performance.
Power Plants
Power plants use screw chillers to cool turbine generator sets and other equipment to maintain the efficiency and performance of the power generation system by dissipating excess heat generated during the power generation process.

Refrigeration
Screw chillers are also used in large refrigeration systems such as cold storage, food processing plants, supermarkets and other scenarios to provide specific temperatures to ensure that perishable goods can be stored at low temperatures.
