What is a rotary dehumidifier?
A rotary dehumidifier is a common type of industrial dehumidification equipment that removes moisture from the air through the use of a rotating hygroscopic wheel.Rotary dehumidifiers are based on the passage of humid air through a rotating, thin-film hygroscopic wheel, which traps moisture onto the wheel and causes it to evaporate through another stream of dry, hot air, resulting in an improvement in the humidity of the air.
Rotor Dehumidifier Components
● Runner
● Regeneration fan
● Heating element
● Cooling elements
● Fans
● Control System
● Drainage systems
● Filter
The above are common and important components of rotary dehumidifiers, according to different personalization there may also be components such as de-bacteria function, alarm function, etc. Users can customize the rotary dehumidifier to fit their needs.
Rotor Dehumidifier Working Principle
Three Important Steps
The working principle of rotor dehumidifier is mainly divided into three important steps, which are: moisture absorption process, regeneration process, and circulation process, through which the rotary dehumidifier is able to continuously remove moisture from the air and maintain a relatively stable humidity level.
Moisture Absorption Process
● Moisture in the air enters the inlet of the rotor dehumidifier and passes through the filter to remove particles and pollutants.
● It enters the surface of the hygroscopic wheel and the wet air comes into contact with the hygroscopic material on the wheel.
● Moisture molecules in the wet air are adsorbed by the hygroscopic agent on the hygroscopic material, making the air dry.
● The dry air is discharged from the dehumidifier through the air outlet.
Regeneration Process
When the hygroscopic wheel is saturated, a regeneration process is required to remove the moisture from the wheel.
● Heating: Hot air is introduced into the rotor dehumidifier by means of a heating element or a hot air stream.
● Regeneration fan: Heated hot air is introduced into the interior of the dehumidifier through the regeneration fan.
● Regeneration air flow: The regeneration air flow passes through the interior of the hygroscopic wheel and evaporates the moisture on the hygroscopic wheel.
● Discharge of wet air: The wet air is discharged from the dehumidifier with the regeneration air flow through the discharge outlet.
● Cooling: After the regeneration process, the regeneration air is cooled by the cooling element to avoid the effect of hot air on the dry air.
Cycle
● After completing the regeneration process, the rotary dehumidifier enters the next cycle.
● Dry air passes through the dehumidifying wheel again to adsorb moisture from the higher humidity air, repeating the dehumidifying and regenerating process.
Rotor Dehumidifier Features Advantages
Highly Efficient Dehumidifying Ability
Rotor dehumidifier adopts the working principle of hygroscopic wheel, which can remove the moisture in the air quickly and efficiently, and can complete the dehumidification task in a relatively short period of time.
High Energy Efficiency Ratio
Rotary dehumidifiers use a regeneration process to remove moisture from the moisture absorbing wheel and then use regeneration airflow and heating elements to efficiently use energy. Compared with other dehumidification equipment, rotary dehumidifiers are more energy-efficient, saving energy and operating costs.
Silent operation
Rotary dehumidifiers are usually designed to be silent, reducing noise pollution and interference, which makes it suitable for places that require a low-noise environment, such as offices, bedrooms, libraries, etc.
Wide Humidity Range
Rotor dehumidifier is suitable for a wide range of humidity, can work in the environment of high relative humidity and low relative humidity, it can automatically adjust the working mode according to the humidity changes in the environment to maintain a stable humidity level.
Automatic Control And Intelligence
Rotary dehumidifiers are usually equipped with advanced control systems that can automatically start and stop according to set humidity or temperature requirements, and some rotary dehumidifiers also have intelligent features, such as humidity sensors and self-diagnostics for faults, to provide a more convenient use experience.
Flexible installation
Rotary dehumidifiers have a compact design and take up relatively little space, allowing them to be installed flexibly in different locations, such as walls, ceilings or floors, which makes them more suitable for use in commercial buildings, factory floors or residential homes.
