Here comes a case from one of our customers, he owns a factory that produces plastic bottles and plastic buckets. Now it's getting close to summer months, he requires an air conditioner to be installed for the factory's workshop. Here we got some basic details of his factory. 60 workers, ground area 2700㎡, height 8 meters, the indoor target temperature is 25~30℃, the fresh air ratio as per 5%, air circulation ratio as per 4~6 times, so how much kilowatts of cooling capacity should it be?
1. The volume of the room space = 2700 ㎡×8 meters=21,600 m³
2. Air flow rate = 21,600 m³×5%×4~6 times = 4,320 6,480 m³/h, based on fresh air ratio 5%
3. Estimation of cooling load (considering personnel, equipment, envelope structure, fresh air)
We estimate unit cooling load according to industry experience value
Plastic workshop cooling load reference value 150~250 W/m²
High personnel density (60 people), equipment heat, we take 220 W/m²is more secure
Cooling capacity = 2700 m²×220 W/m² = 594,000 W = 594 KW
Proposals:
1. Number of chillers: Two 300 kW air-cooled screw chillers are recommended (for redundancy and time-sharing operation)
2. Terminal equipment: About 3~4 units of large AHU (about 15,000m³/h) or disperse multiple medium-sized units
3. Fresh air treatment: Do centralized fresh air treatment according to the number of air changes or set up AHU with fresh air section
4. Required space: No cooling tower is required, occupying a compact area, and later maintenance is relatively simple
